One of the best things to do in Lanzarote is to walk through their pretty villages you’ll find along the road. And Teguise is the most stunning of all.
Explore the Timanfaya National Park
Probably, visiting Timanfaya National Park is already on top of your list of things to do in Lanzarote.
Because who doesn’t like to visit Volcanoes?! This amazing landscape is covered by many of them.
But you can’t visit the Timanfaya National Park by yourself. You have to pay to access to the visitor center and from there, there is a tour bus which will take you through the main point of interest.
There are also some trails and dirt roads nearby the Timanfaya you can explore yourself. Simply keep your eyes wide open to find some cool spots.
Swim in amazing natural pools
If you want to go off the beaten track in Lanzarote, visiting Los Charcones is a great choice.
They are several natural pools formed in the rocks by the cliffs in an impressive setup.

One of the best things to do in Lanzarote is to slow down and spend a lazy day in a pretty beach.
There are many great options all around the islands, although the most impressive ones are located in the southeast of the island.
The good thing about this area is that there are many nice beaches altogether. Which makes it easier to visit a couple of them.
For us, one of the best beaches in Lanzarote is Playa del Papagayo (picture above). Wouldn’t you spend a day here?

If there is one thing to do in Lanzarote that would be going to El Mirador del Rio.
The views from here to La Graciosa Island is simply wonderful.
It features even a coffee shop with the best views you can think about.
Surf in Famara
Famara is the most famous spot in Lanzarote for surfing.
It is a massive and beautiful beach located on the north shore of Lanzarote.
You can find a mix of locals and surfers from all nationalities living together in a laid back atmosphere.
There are several restaurants, bars, terraces and grocery stores, all within walking distance of each other. In the village you will also find skate, bike and car rental, a training centre.
Explore Cueva de los Verdes
Cueva de los Verdes is the best kept secret in Lanzarote.
The visit is for all public and has no difficulty.
Adventure into the cave where the lava has made those curious amazing tunnels.
Take a ferry to La Graciosa
La Graciosa is located 2km north of Lanzarote.
Several ferries are covering this route and it only takes about 30 minutes.
Once there, there is a very basic but beautiful white village with some restaurants and cafes. Even the beach in the village is already pretty.
The best way to explore La Graciosa, is by renting a bike. This way, you can access to the most remote beaches and spots by yourself.
Hike El Cuervo volcano
Visiting a volcano is probably one of the coolest things to do in Lanzarote.
The Caldera del Cuervo is one of the most impressive craters in Lanzarote and provides easy access.
Located in a unique setting, the volcano has an unmistakable shape.
There is a clear path all the way to the volcano base from the parking, which won’t take more than 30 minutes.
Before finishing the circuit around the caldera, a path leads down to the interior of the crater, right into the center where it all began.
Visit la Geria
La Geria is the wine region in Lanzarote.
The landscape here offers one of the most impressive sights of Lanzarote.
This area of land cultivates vines by simply digging a pit into the volcanic ash and then to cleverly create a small semi -circular stone wall around it to help protect it from the wind. The dry land benefits from the contrasting temperatures, ensuring the production of the best grapes resulting in the best Malvasia wine in Lanzarote.
Explore Los Hervideros
Los Hervideros is an amazing place where you can experience the full power of the Atlantic sea.
In this stunning location, you’ll get to watch the waves smashing against the rocks, and a massive splash of water going all the way up through small cave conducts.
It is place unlike anything you have seen before!
Admire the curious Salinas de Janubio
Salinas de Janubio is the place where local salt is produced.
It might not sound interesting, but is laid out in a geometric pattern, with each of the saltpans showing a different color depending on the amount of water in it.
It makes a great stop fot those photography lovers looking for interesting patterns.
Watch the Green Lagoon
El Charco de los Clicos, is a Green Lagoon inside a volcano crater.
Its green color, caused by the algae at the bottom, contrasts with the blues of the sky and sea and the black sand on the beach known as El Golfo which is just a few meters from the lagoon.
There is a car park which leads directly to the Green Lagoon and there is no entrance fee.
We recommend visiting in the afternoon when colors are more vivid.

Where to eat in Lanzarote- Best Restaurants.
The food in Lanzarote is absolutely wonderful. Although there are many “tourist traps” where prices are way to high and the food quality is not the best.
We did not only try the restaurants on this list, but it was also a recommendation we got from the local people.
- Restaurante la Cascada Puerto. If you like meat, this is one of the best places you can visit on the Island.
- El Toro. Another great option for those steak lovers. It offers great traditional food.
- La Bodega de Santiago. This was our favorite. They feature very unique dishes with the best of the traditional food with top ingredients. A Must try.
- La Casita de la Playa. If what you want is to try the local fish, then this is your place.
Where to stay in Lanzarote
The accommodation offer in Lanzarote is brilliant.
You can find any kind of accommodation for all the budgets. The trick here is to choose a good location to explore the island efficiently.
One of our favorites options in Lanzarote is the beautiful Hotel Boutique Palacio Ico.
The pretty hotel is in a very good location to explore the north of the island. It is located in our favorite village, Teguise, which is very nice except on a Sunday when it becomes packed with tourists for the market.
Hotel staff is very friendly and the food and wine offer is also another option to stay.
