It is the most magical time of the year to visit London and live the Christmas spirit in a full-on Christmasy setting. If you love Christmas and you’d like to find out which is the best London Christmas Market, what you will find in each one and where they are, keep reading!
Most of them open between early and mid November and close in the first days of January, but the exact dates change every year. Two are already confirmed for this winter: Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland runs from 19 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, and Kingston from 12 November 2026 to 3 January 2027. The other five had not published their dates when we last updated this post, so we link the official site of each one for you to check before you go.

1. Christmas in Leicester Square
Situated in one of the most transited squares in the heart of London, Leicester Square proudly displays its own full-on Christmas market every winter.
In this gorgeous Christmas market you will find handcrafted gift stalls and street-food cabins, including tons of delicious bratwursts and mulled wine. In other words, Christmas in Leicester Square is one of the top Christmas markets in London.

2. Southbank Christmas Market
Nearby the iconic London Eye, beside the Thames River, Southbank dresses up every year for the occasion with its gorgeous Christmas market.
Traders from all around the world bring their own selection of handmade gifts to sell in the wooden cabins. They also serve international street food such as Greek, Indian, traditional raclettes, bratwurst and sweets. You can also try The Bar Under the Bridge and Circus Bar pop-ups to grab some drinks and food. For us, a top choice of London Christmas market that will not disappoint you.

3. Flat Iron Square
Flat Iron Square is not a market of chalets like the others on this list: it is a set of railway arches off Southwark Street that turns its courtyard into a festive pop-up every winter, with heated seating, mulled drinks and a mini pub.
Its resident kitchens stay open all winter, with Greek souvlaki, fried chicken and Neapolitan pizza among them, and there is a brewery taproom on site. The rest of the year the venue leans on live sport and DJ nights, so check what is on before you make the trip.
Dates: its festive pop-up usually runs from mid November to just before Christmas, but the dates and the format change every year. Check them on the Flat Iron Square website.

4. Kingston Christmas Market
In the picturesque neighborhood of Kingston Upon Thames you will find one of the most gorgeous London Christmas markets. Throughout the traditional wooden cabins, discover its wide offer of original handcrafted gifts, and unique presents.
You’ll also find bars offering steaming mugs of mulled wine and traditional street-food. But that’s not all, there is also a fire pit to toast marshmallows, and a live entertainment stage. If you are taking your little ones, there is also a vintage carousel waiting for them.
Dates: 12 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, confirmed on the official Kingston Christmas Market website. Stalls open 10am to 6pm Sunday to Wednesday and 10am to 8pm Thursday to Saturday. Closed all day on 25 December.
5. Winter Wonderland
Known also as Hyde Park Christmas market, Winter Wonderland is the largest and most impressive London Christmas market. It takes place every year in the popular Hyde Park attracting thousands of people every year to embrace the Christmas spirit at this gigantic Christmas attraction.
Winter Wonderland is the perfect plan to spend the day with family, friends or couples. Things to do here are: riding some of the attractions or ice skating in the UK’s largest open-air ice rink, for instance. Another popular attraction is the aprés ice bar, where everything is made of ice or, learn how to ice sculpting in one of their workshops.
There are also lots of wooden cabins with plenty of original handicrafted gifts, sweets and delicious food and drinks for you to fight the cold. Don’t forget to check the spectacular shows happening in Winter Wonderland, they will surely bring up the Christmas spirit.
If we had to choose a plan in London at Christmas, we cannot think of a better one. Our recommendation is to arrive early, otherwise it gets very crowded.

6. Winter by the River at London Bridge City
Nestled in the iconic London Bridge area, this London Christmas market is one of the prettiest in London for its surrounding. London Bridge City now runs it as Winter by the River, so if you remember it as Christmas by the River, that is the same event under a new name. Running between the Pier and Tower Bridge, this Christmas market is packed with frosted cabins and beautiful twinkly lights.
Get there to check out the artisan Christmas gifts handcrafted by boutique sellers, try some of the pop-up food and drink stalls, and enjoy some of the live music shows. Click here for more information.

7. Greenwich Christmas Market
For us, this is one of the most beautiful London Christmas markets, in the charming neighbourhood of Greenwich. With sparkling Christmas lights, mulled wine, over 120 shops and stalls with crafted gifts and stocking fillers, music and food this London Christmas market will exceed your expectations.
